Philippa joined Educaterers after an early career in industrial and retail catering, including a stint in Germany. After working across the business in a number of kitchen management roles, Philippa was instrumental in developing the trainer role into what it is today. As well as the day to day job, training new catering supervisors and coaching the larger kitchen team, Philippa is part of the menu development team ensuring delicious nutritious meals are always on our menu.
My favourite school dinner:
"A classic roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding and crispy roast potatoes."
Julie joined the training team 2 years ago having worked in all sectors of our business, with particular experience in secondary schools. As well as undertaking on the job training with staff out in our contracts, Julie is also responsible for setting up training in Educaterers’ Centres of Excellence and managing our skills based training initiative that supports and encourages individuals to learn new cooking skills to take back to their kitchens.
My favourite school dinner:
"Another traditional roast dinner followed by a sweet treat with peppermint custard."
"I’ve worked in school catering for 10 years having started as an assistant at my son’s school and progressing to catering supervisor where I stayed for 5 years. I really enjoy my role as part of the training team; where I can pass on my knowledge and experience – “I’ve been there and got the T Shirt”, and it’s really satisfying to see someone new to Educaterers complete their training and go on to make a difference in the company. I’m a keen recycler and love upcycling and repurposing old furniture and I’ve still got a garage full of projects I’ve yet to tackle."
My favourite school dinner:
"Cheesy Pasta followed by a Fruit Crumble and Custard."
